I love answering questions from patients. It is empowering to have insight into your health. Even more, the more you understand, the more informed your decisions. Another key to patient education is the ability to ease apprehensions or fears about what is going on. A sense of mystery is fun in a movie, but not when it is your own health. It is reassuring to understand how serious a condition is, what the options are and how to proceed.
